Peniglen is a small private and non-commercial working labrador kennel which is based in Penistone on the Barnsley/Sheffield borders in South Yorkshire. Penistone itself is a small rural farming village -so we have an abundance of farm land and moor lands to train and exercise all our dogs on.
Throughout the summer months some of our dogs will be competing in working tests up and down the country.
During the shooting season all of our dogs on this website will be picking-up on local shoots, or some will be competing in field trials throughout the country, the dogs that won't be competing will be in full active training and used as demonstration dogs for our training classes which we at Peniglen hold upto twice a week.
Our stud dogs and breeding bitches have or will be health tested for:-
B.V.A Hips and Elbows,
B.V.A Current Clear Eye Certificates 2011,
M.R.D Current Clear Eye Certificates 2011.
And will be D.N.A tested for the hereditary conditions:-
P.R.A - (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
CNM ~ HMLR - (Centro Nuclear Myopothy)
R.D / O.S.D - (Retinal Dysplasia) -
(Oculo Skeletal Dysplasia)
NARC - (Narcolepsy)
Our stud dogs & bitches at Peniglen are microchipped for permanent identification.
How to find Peniglen we are situated in Penistone South yorkshire on the A628 just west of the M1 motorway Junction 37.
(Our kennels are constantly monitored by 24hr CCTV equipment).
